WHAT IS A SHARED LIFE GROUP?
A Shared Life Group is where people meet regularly to support one another, study the Bible, and share life. Each group has a trained leader/host. A typical meeting is about 1.5 hours with some time to socialize. Worship and music may also be incorporated.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A GROUP?
Support, prayer, love, and unity provide security and strong friendships that can last a lifetime. As we are in relationship with others, we can learn to think biblically as we face daily life.
HOW DO I FIND A COMMUNITY GROUP?
Visit the groups page, or call the office at 303.690.2520.
IS CHILDCARE AVAILABLE?
Childcare is provided (for a small fee) for some groups that meet at Smoky Hill Vineyard. In-home groups vary; contact the group leader for details.
WHAT’S THE ADVANTAGE OF A MESSAGE-BASED GROUP?
Going deeper in the study of each Sunday’s message can bring new perspectives and unify SHV as a whole in understanding God’s word.
DOES EVERY GROUP HAVE TO BE MESSAGE-BASED?
Initially, groups are encouraged to engage in this model for their first 6-8 week session, then they have the option to do other studies.
HOW DO I BECOME A LEADER?
Community Group leadership training is offered a couple of times a year. Contact Andrea.Minor@SHVchurch.org for additional information.
HOW DOES THIS SUPPORT THE CHURCH MISSION?
“Real Life, Real Community and Real Mission” tend to naturally happen as people share life, grow spiritually and serve.
WHAT DOES IT COST TO JOIN A GROUP?
The cost is commitment. Each group identifies their own goals and commitments to ensure success. Since not all groups offer free childcare, that may be a cost.
