Q: How do I create an Online Giving account?
Click on the Create New Login Account link on the Giving page of the website and edit the fields marked with an asterisk. You can create your own memorable User I.D., password and security identification question & answer. You will also need a valid email address. Return to top

Q: Why does nothing happen when I click on a link?
The links for the online giving modules operate as popup windows and you may have software that block popups. You will need to allow popups from the Smoky Hill Vineyard web site (www.SHVchurch.org) to utilize the online giving features. Return to top

Q: How can funds be withdrawn directly from my account?
Only with your authorization. No one can deduct money from your account automatically unless you specifically authorize it. Return to top

Q: Does the church get charged for returned transactions?
Yes. If the account details for either your credit card or checking account are incorrect, missing or out of date, the church will be charged a separate transaction fee. To avoid this, please ensure that your contribution schedules and details are accurate. Return to top

Q: Are online contributions risky?
The latest security & encryption technology is used and we are partnered with Cybersource whose core competency is aimed at reducing risks associated with online transactions. Return to top

Q: Do people actually use Online Giving?
Yes. Currently 15% of the contributions received by the church are from online donors. Return to top

Q: When would this automatic contribution be taken from my account?
You can specify whether you want your contribution made one time, yearly, quarterly, weekly, twice per month or as designated. When the date you have selected falls on a weekend or holiday, the transaction will occur on the next banking day but your bank account might not reflect this for several days. Return to top

Q: Can I test this by giving one time?
Yes. You may test Online Giving by selecting “One Time”. Return to top

Q: Why can't I create a contribution schedule?
You need to create an account and be logged in to your account to use the features. Return to top

Q: What contribution methods can I choose?
You have the choice of Visa, MasterCard or checking account. Return to top

Q: Why can't I create a contribution schedule for today's date?
The timing of the complex banking process requires a minimum time period for processing transactions. In order to ensure a successful contribution for a day you want, you will need to schedule it at least 24 hours in advance. Return to top

Q: Why doesn't my contribution appear on my statement?
Typically, Visa & MasterCard transactions are processed more quickly than checking account transactions. You can usually expect to see your transaction details on your statement or online banking account within 5-7 days of the date of the transaction. Return to top

Q: If I don't write checks, how do I keep my checkbook balance straight?
Your contribution is made on a pre-established day, so you can deduct it from your check record then. Return to top

Q: How can I keep a record of the amount I have contributed?
Your credit card or bank statement will include an itemized list of automatic gifts given from your account, prefixed with the text - ‘SHV - Tithe'. We will continue to provide you with a personal giving statement annually for your tax records.

Q: What if I change banks or accounts or want to change the amount of my contribution?
You can change your bank information or contribution schedule at any time by logging in to your account and revising your schedule(s). Return to top

Q: How do I participate in the weekly offering at Sunday services if my contribution is automatically deducted from my bank account?
You are already participating through your online contribution schedule(s).

You can select which fund or pledge you would like to contribute to by simply selecting your options from the drop-down menus in the Contribution Schedule dialogue window. You need to be logged in to your account to perform this action. Return to top

Q: Why can't I see my previous giving history?
Once you create your account, it needs to be verified against the information currently held in the database. This process usually takes between 7-10 working days. Return to top

Q: Why am I getting Contribution Success emails?
If your account has a valid email address, you will get Contribution Success emails to notify you of your transaction. Return to top
