SHV Training | d'Track

In case you were wondering, the “d” stands for discipleship. If you are serious about becoming an active follower of Jesus (and hopefully, we’re all serious about that), then d: track offers you practical steps to that end. d: track classes are designed to be biblical and specific—and they are a fantastic way to grow and learn how to bring the Kingdom of God to others. Good stuff.

101:Discovering Community

The 101 class is the starting point for building community. 101 provides an opportunity to discover your spiritual gifts, passions and ways to connect with others for spiritual growth. Greg Thompson, our senior pastor, teaches this two-session class where you will learn the history, vision, and values of SHV. The pastoral team will welcome you and share the many ministries and groups we have available.

Dinner and childcare are provided.

Dates for the fall 101 class are September 21 and 28, 5:30 - 8:00 pm.

102: Practically Following Jesus
If you are a new follower of Jesus, or just new to SHV, this class is a must. Practically Following Jesus is an ongoing-six week class that encompasses the best of Alpha, Financial Peace University, SHAPED to Serve, Becoming Like Jesus in Character, personal Bible study and Q&A. Because the class is ongoing, you can start on any Sunday. This class is a great way to get the Vineyard basics and meet friends in the process.

The first class is (tentatively) set to start Spring 2009.

103: Ministry Training: (Formerly 301: Becoming like Jesus in Ministry)
This Real Life course will enable you to pray with confidence and learn to trust the Holy Spirit as you utilize a simple 3-Step Ministry Model. Richard Powell and Danny Daniels teach this 4-week course.

201: d-track classes

301: Leadership Training
If you feel called to take the next step, become a leader at SHV or want to bring the Kingdom to others, then this is the class for you. Greg Thompson will teach this four-week class which covers recruiting, training, developing, monitoring and nurturing; how to lead a Bible study and ministry time; and SHV leadership specifics.

VLI: Vineyard Leadership Institute
Vineyard Leadership Institute (VLI) is designed to meet the needs of emerging leaders in empowered evangelical churches. Through VLI, these leaders will learn to do the works of the Kingdom of God. The vision of VLI is to produce mature, passionate, knowledgeable, and experienced followers of Jesus who will lead SHV ministries and evangelize and disciple non-Christians. This is a two-year program. Next class begins Spring 2009.
